Palmer Fest this year was arguably the most calm it has been in years. Dubbed "Calmer Fest" by The Post, constant rainy conditions and unseasonably chilly temperatures kept many students from coming out to the notorious street fest. Despite the dreary weather a few students still came out to party during the last street fest of the year before the 12 Fest music concert held on April 12. Three law enforcement agencies made 33 arrests during Palmer fest, down from 55 arrests made last year. The wet streets cleared out around 5:30 p.m.

Quinn Corrado has his surname tattooed on his right arm and his father's surname, "Gibbs" on his left, both were tattooed while he was intoxicated in Cancun. He got his father's last name tattooed on his left arm because his parents didn't marry and he felt that it wasn't fair for his father not to be represented in his body art.
Recently I've been doing blog posts on events, but I take a lot of general assignments in between the more substantial projects I work on for my classes to keep myself making pictures nearly everyday. Here's what I've been doing between festivals, events and photo stories.

Two weekends ago I spent Friday night, all day Saturday, and Sunday morning photographing the 2014 Arnold Sports Festival with Classic Productions. I was on the team as a freelance photographer, so I was able to move around from event to event without any sort of schedule dictating what I had to shoot. Classic Productions didn't require caption information and wanted us to make as many photographs as possible, so I unfortunately got few names as I was running from event to event sporadically. The festival is held from February 27 - March 2 in Columbus, Ohio, at the Columbus Convention Center as well as a few additional buildings. The event is massive-roughly 18,000 athletes come to prove themselves in dozens of sports and events in front of approximately 175,000 fans a year. This being my first year at the Arnold, I had a lot to take in-especially with my limited time (I had to meet up with the Singing Men of Ohio in Niagara Falls to document and enjoy their spring break tour with them as the group's Historian-which was an incredible experience as well).
